BATTLE STORY UNIVERSE (?) The "Battle Story" is an umbrella term for a variety of stories in different media, including books, catalogues and model kit boxes. These stories form the history of Planet Zi (originally Planet Zoid) and the wars between Zoidians, particularly the Helic Republic, Zenebas Empire and Guylos Empire. Most Zoids storylines (including the Chaotic Century anime) are based on the Battle Story universe to some extent.
Zoids Official Fan Book EX (?) The Fan Book EX series consisted of small booklets included with models from the late NJR, detailing the war between the Helic Republic and the Neo Zenebas Empire. This page also includes the short Battle Story segments included in the manuals of certain models, as they continue the Fan Book EX storyline.

CONCEPT ART UNIVERSE (?) The "Concept Art" universe is a reboot of the Battle Story which began with the 2010 book Zoids Concept Art. While the story is loosely based on 80s Battle Story material, the Zoids in the Concept Art universe were created through nanotechnology and DNA from Earth animals, and the "Zoidians" are descended from human colonists. Most media released after 2010 has been set in the Concept Art universe.
Zoids Original (?) The Zoids Original model line went on sale from 2013 to 2014, supported by the Zoids SS manga and a series of short web stories following the same storyline. These are set during and after the war of the Concept Art series, and mostly follow the new Federation Army as it attempts to hunt down the remnants of the Empire Army.
Zoids SS [external site] (?) A manga telling the story to the Zoids Original line, originally published in Dengeki Hobby Magazine in 2013 and 2014. It was released in book form in 2014, containing all the magazine chapters as well as a bonus epilogue that helped to tie the stories together.
